We
decided to start at the beginning, with our very first holiday “far”
away from home. To a certain degree this holiday awoke in us the love
for travelling we did not knew before. Just after after high-school,
the summer before we went to university we visited one of the most
beautiful island of Europe – the wild beauty Corsica. We fell so
much in love, that we visited the island again the following year.
Corsica
is a great island for campers, if not ideal. The prices are low
(16-20EUR for 2pers., 1 car, 1 tent) in comparison to Italian or
Croatian camps and there is a campsite practically at every corner. We
are both not a fan of being limited with dates, therefore we never
make reservations, but simply stay where we like it most. But in case
you are travelling in a large group, we have to add that the camps in
Corsica tend to be rather small (compared to Italian and Spanish
campsites) so you should check before and maybe make a reservation
especially in high season.
Since
the camps are often family run, they tend to be relatively simple
with the basic infrastructure needed in a camp. For us this is
perfectly OK, since we are not fans of animators and swimming pools
10m from the sea. There were also a couple of this kind of campsites, but we
avoided them on purpose.
The
owners are usually friendly and helpful, especially if you speak
French or Italian. In the most camps we managed with bad French, a
couple of words in English, hand gestures and a smile :)
Both
times we were in Corsica at the beginning of September. The weather
was good and we experienced no rain except once there was a shower,
when we camped near Corte, in the higher parts of the Island.
Since
pictures tell more then a thousand words please find below our
impressions.

Začeli
bomo z našim prvim potovanjem “daleč” od doma. V neki meri je
to potovanje ključno, saj je v naju vzbudilo ljubezen do
popotovanja. V poletju po končani maturi in pred začetkom faksa sva
obiskala po najinem mnenju enega najlepših otokov v Evropi – divjo
lepotico Korziko.
Cene so nizke
Midva
imava take kampe raje kot bolj “luksuriozne” saj ne marava
animatorjev in bazenov 10m od morja.
velikem loku.
Lastniki
kampov so običajno prijazni in radi pomagajo, predvsem ko
z njimi govoriš italjansko ali francosko. V večini kampov sva
shajala z slabo francoščino, nekaj angleških izrazov, govorico rok
ter nasmeškom :)
Obakrat
sva obiskala ta prelep otok v začetku septembra. Vedno sva imela
zelo lepo in toplo vreme, le enkrat nas je ujela nevihta, ko sva
kampirala v višje ležečih krajih Korzike blizu mesteca Corte (kjer
je med drugim pravo “gnezdo” slovencev :)).
